When I was in high school, I had this teacher that had some kind of problem with his legs. Periodically, he would just kind of yell out, “My legs are burning!” Of course, being in high school, I latched on to this statement and found it to be far more funny that it probably is. Periodically, when Emily sunburns her legs, she will say her legs are burning, I will burst out laughing, and she will roll her eyes (by now she knows what I am thinking and does not find it amusing that I am comparing her statement to that of an old codger of a teacher I had years ago).
So today, it is Emily’s turn to laugh. Yesterday I did my second Kristi Approved/Live the Life work out. It was a pretty intense lower body workout that really worked my quads. When I was done, I felt pretty good. I carried on with my day, and then went to bed. This morning, I could not move my legs. In my mind, I thought “my legs are burning!” Seriously, I could barely hobble down the stairs. When I did, and I realized I forgot something upstairs, I literally let out a little whimper at the thought of going back up the stairs.
By the time I got to work, I was in serious pain. The burning had not stopped, but was worse than ever. I could not run at the gym today, my legs just wouldn’t support my body. I had to bike at a relatively low speed. While I was going down the elevator today, I started feeling really guilty about what I wrote yesterday about people getting on the elevator and then getting off one story down. I had no idea they were all doing the Kristi Approved/Live the Life diet. I am now a full supporter of using the elevator to go down one flight of stairs and I apologize for being so judgmental.
