Alright, so I can't tell you how long it took for me to come up with the name for my blog, Weighty Matters. I worked on it long and hard, and I thought it was very clever when I finally came up with it. In fact, I thought so hard about it that I fell asleep in the chair that I was sitting in when I was thinking of it and fell fast asleep. At about 2:00 in the morning, I jumped up, wide awake, and said to myself: "Weighty Matters!" and it was done. Because of the high drama related to the naming of my blog, yesterday, I decided to see if I could Google my blog to find it on the Internet. Much to my dismay, I was not the only one with a blog called Weighty Matters. In fact, there are two other active blogs I found that are called Weighty Matters.
I have to admit, I am a little disappointed by this. One of the blogs is written by a guy named Yoni. (Yes, his name Yoni, and no, I don't know what kind of name it is. I think his full name may be Yanthony.) He is a doctor in Ottawa. Other than the fact that he doesn't really know how to use commas (few do), his blog is actually pretty good. He always has a picture and seems to point out the hypocrisy of our culture's desire to be healthy but refusal to actually do what it takes. For example, he has an interesting post on banning toys in Happy Meals and other unhealthy kid's meals, which is a new law in San Francisco. I really can't say anything bad about the website. To be honest, and this makes me the most mad, I actually kind of liked it.
This is what the second blog's "About Me" section says (I have eliminated one inappropriate word, but this is otherwise copied and pasted from the blog): "Sweet-but-sassy Southern gal. In touch with my inner ***** and inner child. Classic Scorpio with some Libran tendencies. I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from going insane. My ultimate goal is to win big in the lottery, be a professional beach bum, write the Great American Novel, and own a modern WKRP. It could happen. . . ." Okay, I am a Scorpio too, but I am going to suppress my zodiacal tendencies to be competitive and say things that I will regret later. I will simply say nothing at all.
So, given these two blogs, I am now wondering if I should change the name of my blog. I have been struggling with this over the last few hours. I want something witty, but descriptive. I liked Weighty Matters because I thought it was pretty witty and fairly descriptive. I did think I could rename it "This Is Jeff Merchant's Blog about How He Is Trying to Change His Life by Eating Better and Exercising, Specifically Over the Next 84 Days, but Really for the Rest of His Life," but I think that is a little too long and has no wit whatsoever. What do you think, any ideas on a new blog name, or should I just keep it as it is?

I typed in "Weighty Matters" cuz I couldn't remember the website once. I happened on a blog called "Weighty Matters of the Law", which I thought was yours (you being a lawyer and all). Anyway, interesting read.
I definitely think a new name is in order.
Maybe you could post a poll. : )
As for possible blog names:
Chew the Fat
Fat of the Land
Get the Skinny
Weighting Around
Too Legit to Quit
I have more. Let me know.
