Being Bipolar

Okay, so I admit, I have been really bipolar about this whole diet thing.  One day, I am totally into it, the other, I am in the depths of depression over it.  Fortunately, Halloween Day I woke up totally into it.  I am happy to report that for the second year in a row, I had absolutely no candy whatsoever on Halloween.  What's better, after getting back from the gym, I walked my daughters around the neighborhood for 2 hours collecting candy.

This experience confirmed that kids today are less willing to suffer through the cold and wind and exhaustion to get as much candy as possible than they were back when I was a kid.  It also confirmed that kids today get MUCH better candy, and a lot more of it, whilst going to fewer houses.  I weighed our candy when we got home:  8 pounds 8.8 ounces--and they were almost all candy bars.  When I was a kid, if you got a mini snickers you had hit the jackpot.  Apparently nowadays, snickers are as common as tootsie rolls.  Alas, all that extra candy that my kids won't eat will go to waste this year.  No candy for me!
