Day 158: A Heartless World

This weekend I realized that the world really is a cruel, heartless place.  I had to take Maggie to Costco with me to pick a few things up.  I naturally forgot my lunch, and was forced to go out to eat.  Having Maggie, our choices of places to go were either Chic-Fil-A or the Chic-Fil-A drive through.  She chose Chic-Fil-A.  I determined to be as good as I could, and only ordered some chicken.  None of the french fries and no milkshake.

I have to say, I have done a pretty good job over the last five months getting over a lot of sweets, but I LOVE Chic-Fil-A's cookies and cream milkshake.  Actually, I like all of their milkshakes.  I don't know why, but I just love those things.  Anyway, I was good and I only got chicken.

We ate and chatted, which is always a good thing to do with your daughter.  Then, it happened.  A well intentioned Chic-Fil-A employee came up to us and said, "We have an extra milkshake today, would you like it?"  Before I could say no thank you, my daughter Maggie snatched it out of the lady's hand and said "Thanks!"  We got the usual, "My pleasure" (for some reason, they refuse to say "your welcome" at Chic-Fil-A) and Maggie took a huge swig.  That is when she realized it was a strawberry milkshake (another favorite of mine) and that it had little chunks of strawberry in it.  "EWWW" she said, and handed it to me.

A Chic-Fil-A Strawberry Icedream Milkshake, with four inches of high quality, rich whipped cream on top, and, best of all, free.  And to think I had to throw it away whole.
