Alright, I will just say it: It was a bad, bad, bad, bad weekend. What a mess. It is behind me, though, so I am not going to dwell on it. The good news is that I still lost an amazing 4 or so pounds my first week, so I am very happy about that. The key now is to buckle down for the long haul over the next five weeks, since I think what I lost was mostly water weight. If I can focus for a few weeks, I think I should get to my goal.
Otherwise, I don't have much to say today, other than to mention an awe-inspiring article, "In Tunisia, act of one fruit vendor unleashes wave of revolution through Arab world," I read in yesterday's Washington Post. I try to stray away from politics on this blog, but if you have ever questioned whether one person can make a difference, I think this article answers that question.* Folks, I hope you know that that is what this blog is all about. It is about getting people to know they have the power to change things--from the inside out. Enjoy the article, it is a little long, and in my mind it strays away from the main point the further along you go, but it really is a powerful story.
*For those in the audience with weak constitutions, please be aware that this article mentions (but goes into absolutely no detail) the rather unconventional, but not unheard of, method of protest whereby one sets himself on fire.
