At long last, I have changed the blog name, and at the same time, have given it a face lift. I hope everyone likes it. The background may change, I am still not sure about the leaf thing, but I thought it would be nice to check a few backgrounds out before settling on something. Let me know what you think of the redesign.
With that, I must say I have some disappointing news. Over the last two weeks, the stress has gotten to the point that I have had to make some difficult choices. Unfortunately, my bad choices have caused the 15-Pound Challenge to suffer some devastating hits. Hopefully over the next two weeks (that is when I go on the big cruise), I can make up some of the ground I have lost. But, don't worry, this is the kind of thing that happens sometimes when you are living a lifestyle. We all make poor choices in life, most of mine just happen to be about what I take into my body.
Actually, eating poorly is a really easy choice (which is why fatness is such a common thing in this country). The real difficult choice is this: I am cutting back on my blog writing. This should be no surprise, since (excluding the last few days) I haven't really been writing anything of substance lately. The original point of this blog was to chronicle my dieting woes. Over time, it seems I have discussed just about everything I can think about. I know in reality this isn't true. (It is like when the Commissioner of the US Patent Office said in 1899 that "Everything that can be invented has been invented." Those of us with iPods know he wasn't quite right.) Nevertheless, it has been harder to write lately because the dieting really has slowly transformed in to a lifestyle. Simple, daily living doesn't seem interesting to write about.
Having said this, I will keep doing my best to provide myself, and you, with some entertaining, educating, and (very rarely) enlightening posts. And, of course, it is true that crazy things still happen from time to time (like the lady at the gym the other day that was walking around the weight room in her towel--yes, just her towel), and I will tell you when they happen. Sadly, though, given time constraints, I have a new, temporary goal of writing at least once or twice a week. Hopefully this will result in higher quality thoughts, and as the blog's new name suggests, will lighten things up a bit for all of us trying to lighten ourselves up.

Jeff! I still check to see what you are up to. How is your health? Are you doing okay? Are you moving? Did you take another job? I have all these questions! And, I didn't have gum grafts - they gave me "white" fillings for my receding gums! Fun to see you are posting again.
I like the new name and the green background. At some point, I think it may be appropriate to call the blog "lightened up." And, for some unexplainable reason, the leaf in the upper right corner is a bit distracting! I don't why, but it is.
